Story of Narcissus (Extract from The Alchemist)

The alchemist picked up a book that someone in the caravan had bought. Leafing through the pages, he found a story about Narcissus. The alchemist knew the legend of Narcissus, a youth who knelt daily beside a lake to contemplate his own beauty. He was so fascinated by himself that, one morning, he fell into the lake and drowned. At the spot where he fell, a flower was born, which was called the narcissus. But this was not how the author of the book ended the story. He said that when Narcissus died, the goddesses of the forest appeared and found the lake, which had been fresh water, transformed into a lake of salty tears. '' Why do you weep? '' the goddesses asked. '' I weep for Narcissus '', the lake replied. '' Ah, it is no surprise that you weep for Narcissus'', they said , ''for though we always pursued him in the forest, you alone could contemplate his beauty close at hand.'' '' But.....was Narcissus be...

Should God Apologize??

Last time I left you all with a simple but interesting and important question that what you really want God to say about you.....I got many answers, some in the comment box, other through email and my twitter account. Everyone, I mean every single person wants to hear God saying that He pardoned them. That's quite a good answer but no one actually said that they want to hear Him saying that He loves them and they really matter....... There's no wisdom without Love. No Love without freedom, And no freedom unless we dare to walk away from what we have become.        Many desire to see their names in print,      Many read nothing but the race report,                  Much is your reading but not the word of God,                     Much is your building but not the House of God. But one answer really persuaded me to think......One of my friend f...

GOD

I am no one explain you what the word 'God' means but I am only here to explain my opinion about God. I have the curiosity to know Him and for this I place many questions in front for God to answer. This may seem wrong to many but the great Shams Tabriz once said that ' Never judge the way people connect to God.' The problem today is that the world values answers over questions. But questions should matter so much more. Whenever I see duality, I smash it into tiny little pieces. I make plurality out of singularity and complexity out of simplicity. And many of you would have done this. For me simplicity is not priority because our minds are not set for it. Our minds are made for the turns and twists of life. READ CAREFULLY:      Daring to know yourself means daring to destroy yourself. First, we  must pull ourselves apart. Then, with the same pieces, we will assemble a new self. What if bad comes into good and good into bad? What if devil comes into God and God...

Look Into Yourself

Look into yourself You have learnt so much And read a thousand of books Have you ever read yourself? You have gone to mosque and temple Have you ever visited your soul? You are busy fighting Satan Have you ever fought your ill intentions? You have reached into the skies, But you have failed to reach What's in your heart!                                                     __ Baba Bulleh Shah Regards, Yashal Jalil

What Does Your Heart Say?

How long were you going to shrink from God when you could instead start to love Him? Heart always whispers,'' Be aware of the place where you are brought to tears. That's where I am, and that's where your treasure is.'' I don't know what will be your reaction after reading this post but I am a believer of words and they call me ''wizard of words''. I play with my words to make a place in your heart. Some people cry in the mosque and some are flooded with tears in a tavern. When a true lover of God goes into a tavern, the tavern becomes his chamber of prayer, but when a wine bibber goes into the same chamber, it becomes his tavern. In everything we do, it is our hearts that make the difference, not our outer appearances. Sufis do not judge other people on how they look or who they are. When a Sufi stares at someone, he keeps both his eyes closed and instead opens a third eye-the eye that sees the inner realm. Take a look around. Every man...

Allah, God, Buddha or Bhagwaan??

WOULD YOU COME IF SOMEONE CALLED YOU BY WRONG NAME? I WEPT BECAUSE FOR YEARS HE DID NOT ENTER MY ARMS; THEN ONE NIGHT I WAS TOLD A SECRET; PERHAPS THE NAME YOU CALL GOD IS NOT REALLY HIS, MAYBE IT IS JUST AN ALIAS. We call Him by different names. Some call Him God, others regard Him as Allah, Some ask for His mercy using the name Buddha and others call him Bhagwaan. He listens all of them and boon them with what they want. He never differ between ones who call Him Allah or ones who call Him God. He never stopped Himself granting ones who call Him Buddha or ones who regard Him as Bhagwaan. If He; the Almighty never felt bad on the names we gave Him, then why we people are ignorant towards people calling Him with the name we don't use. He; Allah, God, the Almighty has His own language through which He wants to talk to us. That's actually the soul of the world and that language is LOVE. For Him it doesn't matter what name you give Him, but what matters is how muc...
